Today I wasn't suppose to be in a rush but I am. I really can't wait for a day when I can actually stop. I commented on posts from my phone every time I could break away for a second, so I'm sorry if some of them are full of grammar horrors!

Today question is brought to us by [livejournal.com profile] rogueslayer452 What is one fandom that you would love to see a revival for?

I'm the kind of person who complains about all these revivals and movies/shows coming out form book adaptations... I feel like we're in need of fresh stuff... but, for tv networks and production labels, is definitely easier to make money from something that already has a fan base. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited when I hear some of the shows/movies I loved are coming back... You should have see me reacting to the news they were doing an Episode VII of Star Wars! I will definitely watch Gilmore Girls because: HELL YEAH!, I jumped into the X-Files like there was no other choice, when I saw the Scofield brothers reunited in Flash and in Legends of Tomorrow I got all nostalgic and than BAM Prison Break: the sequel...

I get very excited because I'm human... but I'm always also very scared when I read/hear something is coming back, so I don't know which show I loved I would like to have back and risk the possibility it would get ruined... If I was absolutely certain there was NO chance to screw it up, I would like to have a revival of Firefly (NOT on Fox) with ALL the original cast, Wash included (maybe they cloned him, he has a twin brother? I don't know but Alan Tudyk HAS to be part of it!

A couple of years ago I would have said I would have loved another season of Friends, because I miss them so much... But the actors keep guest starring in each others shows so I'm okay with it! :) I can't wait to see which one of them will appear on Matt LeBlanc's new comedy!!! :)

Oh and if I could have just one episode of a HIMYM revival, where they erase everything that happened in the season finale I would pay out of my pocket...

I am right there with you, I am very wary of reboots and reunion specials.

Have you read any of the Firefly/Serenity comics? It's not the same as a fully acted show, but they get the tone and keep the story going. If I had a time machine, I would throw together a revival of that show soon after it was cancelled...I fear that too much time has passed now for that to ever really work. But I love when I see the actors all working together. :)

I've got my fingers crossed that Bryan Fuller manages to get the cast of Hannibal back together for a Season 4, right now that is the only revival on my radar that might actually happen and that I really want to happen!

No, I'm not reading the comics unfortunately... :( The cast is aging well, but yes... a time machine would help LOL same as Friends...

I hope you'll get your wish with Hannibal... I don't know if they cancelled it out of the blue or they gave it a finale... I think I saw the pilot when it came out but I stopped there :)

It wasn't an out of the blue cancellation, they knew far enough ahead it would probably be the last season, but they left it open enough. Plus, they technically only got through the first book and Bryan Fuller says he has a plan for 'Silence of the Lambs' in his universe and I SO want to see that.

It reminds me when Veronica Mars was getting a reunion movie, it broke all the records in getting backed by fans on Kickstarter in an incredible short period of time, which is what, I believe, started the whole trend of revivals in showing that it can be done when there is a target audience for it. At first I was excited for it, but then hearing about what the movie entailed it essentially was just a massive reunion with the majority of the cast, but nothing really happened. It's why I kind of dismiss it, since I don't consider it part of canon in my eyes.

With that being said, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some revivals of other things, if they're done in the right way of honoring and respecting the story and the fans. Not just done for the money or to see who can appear for a ten second cameo, etc.

I saw the Veronica Mars movie but I don;t remember anything about it LOL! But yes... I think that's where everything kind of started...

There are some writers/producers that would do a great job if the networks were giving them the chance to do a remake, but the majority would be there for the money... And I don't actually know how much a network has to say on contents... :(

Luckily we've Netflix with its original series that are quite good!
