I must be one of the few people who started the show because of Hugh Laurie!
I obsessed over this guy for years, and House is the show that started everything for me. Before that I was just watching TV without paying too much attention... Never went on the internet looking for things like spoilers, music videos, fan fictions... Never knew what a fandom was and - damn it - I wasn't even able to read or understand english that well. So it was Hugh Laurie who gently pulled me into this world and I owe him a lot somehow.

The night manager is SO.GOOD and you don;t need me to tell you what it is about because you just need to watch it!

It's interesting how a lot of Movie Actors are moving into the Television kingdom... It kind of shoked me when I saw Bradley Cooper in Limitless and now Ewan McGregor is going to be on the 3rd season of Fargo? 0____0 I can deal with seeing faces as pretty as Ewan once a year on a big screen, but weekly? I don't know how I'll be able to survive xD

It always makes me laugh whan I watch a show with brits and I always spot the same people... Seems like they have like 12 actors in the UK xD And theyre all so bloody good! A part from Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston, there's Tom Hollander that for me is always going to be Mr Collins xD, Olivia Colman from Broarchurch, Tobias Menzies from Outlander (poor guy... it must sucks to be him because I think now he's stuck with the evil guy/creep role... I would never be able to see him as an hero in any show) and Jonathan Aris from sherlock... Plus David Harewood from Supergirl! Maybe one day I'll have David Tennant and Hugh in the same show... A girl could wish, right?

Talking about David Harewood I saw an interview with him where he said Hugh stayed in character pretty much the whole time, and it doesn't surprise me since I remember Stephen Fry, once, saying that when they were having dinner in the US, and he was filming House, he kept speaking with an American accent. It must have been extremely creepy to stay in that character though. I'm so proud of him (and I know it's weitd) but he's such an insecure person and I know he works so hard and I'm happy when he gets a role that allowes him to show the worls how good he is!

So go watch the Night Manager and not just for Tom Hiddleston (who's marvellous anyway) but do it for Hugh too!

WOW they're gorgeous... I only saw the 4th one as the new cover of the book... I was at the library yesterday and I saw it! :D

I don;t actually like when they put the movie.tv show cover on books but that looks actually great!

Man, the first 2 are AWESOME!

Talking about this kind of book... You know Hugh Laurie wrote a book and it'a actually VERY VERY Good? IT's called "The Gun Seller" and I really enjoyed it! I read it years ago and I still remember that I was very impressed by the way it was written! Very smart!

/I don;t actually like when they put the movie.tv show cover on books but that looks actually great!/ - LOL, I guess they do it because they're afraid potential new readers won't remember the title but they will remember the faces of the actors in the adaptation? :D
Also, I guess it's sort of a status thing. It says: look, this one book was cool enough they even made an adaptation out of it. *shrugs*
But, yes, sometimes I don't like it either, especially when the adaptation ends up being really different from the source...

Anyway, I think my favorite poster is the 4th one... <3

Oh, really?!? I didn't know! Now you got me curious though! And, indeed, what a talented man!

I'm just a sucker for pretty covers and sometimes a movie poster is not what I want on a book... I always look for other editions :) like the pillars of the earth by Ken Follet (one of my favorite books ever) had a GREAT cover and I had it in Italian... and then the tv show came out and I decided I wanted to read it again in English but I could only find books with the cast members on the cover... Eddie and Hayley are super cute but still I wanted the copy with the cathedral (and The copyright that proved I read it BEFORE The show)

You should definitely check out Hugh book. It's a crime but it's definitely different :)

OMG, The Pillars of Earth is like the most accomplished novel I've ever read. It has all, terrific characters, twisty plot, terrific world-building! *_* The first time I read it, it was a book borrowed from my boyfriend, with the beautiful cathedral on the cover, yes. Then years later I found a paperback copy in an news-stand and brought it home with me for a few euros. <3
It's not quite as beautiful as the other edition (the cover just has a rose window or something) but I felt that, ever if these days I only read stuff that goes on my e-reader, that book deserved a place on my personal library. <3
Also, oh, I never thought about reading that book in English. Awesome idea. But again, probably it's because I've read it back before the advent of my e-book reader LOL - whose presence means that nowadays I don't need to wait for translations (well, at least when it's English eheh) <3

As for Eddie and Hayley, they were terrific in the miniseries, yes! *_* But I do have a special weakness for Hayley. (And I find it kind of unfair how Eddie went on to become a Hollywood leading man and get an Oscar while she's stuck doing tv stuff like this, I've always thought she was the more talented of the two...)

Will do, thanks for the tip!

SOOOO GOOOOOD!

I agree... There are books that NEED to be shown!!! :D

She's amazingly talented I agree but I have to say I'm happy she's a TV actress because it means we can see her more often! :D And OMGYES!!! Conviction is TOTALLY in my list of new shows and JUST OFR HER!!! It's probably going to be extremely good but I'm jumping right into it because of her!!! How AWESOME is that she got a lead role so quickly after Agent Carter? She's amazing!!!

Agreed on the fact that this way we can see her more often, though while I devoured every BBC production of hers and I'm still saddened by the cancellation of Agent Carter, the Conviction trailer just left me very underwhelmed. IDK it seemed pretty generic to me? Plus the bra shot was just gratuitous, which doesn't bode well for the show, I think...

I think the show has potential, it can be a good one but it depends on how well the characters are written... It'll be a procedural, I guess, and when I watch a procedural all I care about it she character development and, from what I saw in the promo there is a lot that can be done... She'a a brilliant actress so I know she'll be excellent when it'll come to show us her true feelings under the facade. This is what I'm excited about!!! :D

/It'll be a procedural, I guess/ - Yes, maybe that's what worries me, I'm kind of bored by them, I guess? I like your positive outlook, though, let's keep our fingers crossed! ;)

I'm not a procedural fan myself... I shut off my brain during the "case of the week" like for Castle I have NO IDEA about what happened to any of their cases because I was focusing on the show just for the interpersonal relationship between the main characters... I usually watch the TV while I play the guitar (I memorize new fingerpicking parrerns and chords to train my muscle memory) LOL I try to be multitasking xD

See, I watched the first few episodes of that show because I love the main actor back from when he was doing Firefly and I thought the concept was interesting but then it turned out so boring and repetitive (because, you know, procedural) and I sort of gave up on it. Afterwards, I occasionally caught a few episodes here and there and, yes, the characters are fun (the actor too) but I don't watch much more tv anymore, I prefer streaming stuff on my pc (there are no commercials for one thing) so I find myself doing less multitasking as you say (though the idea is great) and I have less excuses to watch it. :D

I started it for Nathan Fillion too and I agree... It was a boring procedural and I ended up keep watching just for Nathan and Stana (Castle and Becket) they were amazing, but yes I can't remember anything that's not related to them or his family... Never really connected with the other characters and I believe I actually skipped a couple of seasons watching just the clips about the couple... It went on for too long... but procedurals tend to air for a very long time...

Sorry, I missed an "s" up there, I meant to say both actors are great, the one who plays Becket too. ;) And the characters of Castle's daughter and mother are adorable.

Yep... These 4 were the reason why I watched!!! But now it's finally over... :D
