I'm leavin' today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York

Oh hello there... It is saturday night and I am stuck on the boat. I am one of the watch keepers tonight and I am utterly bored... So I was reorganizing my photos on iPhoto (Yep, that bored) and I decided to post a couple of pics from my last holidays. I have this project in mind, where I post a couple of my favorites from every place I have been... In my mind looks awesome but it's going to be difficult to get there. I will need time and patience... Yes, it's going to be difficult. :)

As I mention a couple of posts ago, I have been out of the water  for two weeks and I spent a couple of these days in New York, the one and only :) and it was mind blowing. I have never been in THE City before. I've always saw bits and pieces on the telly and I was all confident, knowing that these places and views were part of me, but they weren't. When I re-emerged from the Lincoln Tunnel and I had the whole city around me I felt completely lost. Even when, later that day, I walked in Central Park it was like I have never saw these rocks before.

A couple of hours ago, instead, I was watching Glee, season 5 season premiere (I skipped season 4 last year... I just wanted to see the beginning of season 5 because of what happened to Cory) and there is Rachel walking in Central Park and all of sudden I was all OMGIHAVEBEENTHERETHISISSOSWESOME xD

I guess that if now I decide to watch an episode of 30 rock and I see the Rockefeller Center before my eyes my head will explode!

So, let's start this project. 3...2...1...

What is better of Central Park in a beautiful end-of-summer day? Well I dare you to find something else.

The Alice In Wonderland section is lovely. Alice and her friends looking on the pond... It feels like Wonderland!

And here's the Pond!

Random Tree is random. But, again, so beautiful... it is impressive how in the middle of this City, one of the most chaotic Cities on the World, there is such a peaceful place. A place you can run to when life gets too crazy. That makes this place even more valuable.

And here an example of a very relaxed person. hey, that's me!!! :)

Also, we can find a very happy guy... Who's this? Eric!
Who's Eric? Read this post. And pay more attention!

We can call this 'love birds in the park' xD

The Bridge. I wonder how many movie scenes has been shoot here. As I was saying, I was watching Glee and in episode 5x01 Rachel was there, lost in her thoughts... I will start to pay more attention at these little details.

Hey, that's me again... :) No signs of Rachel here :)

The Zoo. I love this part of the park. I mean there is a zoo... in the park... how cool is that?

TINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Mikael J. Fox was here :)

Dinner at the E&E Grill (Erika and Eric LOL what a coincidence xD) and Tickets for a Broadway show. The Book of Mormon. HILARIOUS! Thank you boss for giving Eric and I these amazing tickets! We love you SO MUCH! We have the BEST.BOSS.EVER!

LOL! Eric, Lego!Batman cannot take you seriously with my bag on your shoulder xD

From the Empire State Building... No Daleks around xD

And I will leave you with this picture. Manhattan Skyline... You know you love me... XOXO... Ery :)

That's it for now. My watch keeper duties are over and I can go to sleep! YAY! Stick with me though, because next stop... THE HAMPTONS! :)

Peace.

Ery

Yes, my husband and I spent a week there when we were on our honeymoon, in the year 2000. Gosh, that was so long ago, but I still remember it as if it was yesterday! I loved NY so much and hope to be able to visit that fabulous city again in the near future.

Wow... A brave choice for an honeymoon... Usually, people I know, chose relaxing places and - if I have to be honest - I don't agree with them... You got your all married life to relax... for your honeymoon do something BIG!!! So, Bravo my friend!

I have been in love with London for all my life and NYC is a crazier London... So, I am in Love all over again! I cannot wait to go back to that great crazy island! It deserves its fame and glory!

Although I have to admit I would never live there... I would put my home base in York, PA and travel there on regular basis. New York makes you want to be a better person, read more, exercise more, aim for success... it makes you feel like everything is possible, so it's great to be able to get that infusion of bitterness often! :)

I am sure you'll be back there again soon enough! :)

Well, NY was a fantastic experience, a very friendly and welcoming place. I remember that it was exactly one year before 9/11 and the Twin Towers were still there - I have them in the background of many of my pictures, and it was incredibly terrifying to see them fall on the following year. :(

Hubby and I dislike boring places where you have nothing to do, so for our honeymoon we chose to spend one week in NY to do some shopping and sightseeing, and one week in Orlando (FL) to go to the Disney theme parks (Epcot, the MGM Studios and Disneyworld). Definitely NOT a relaxing holiday, but an experience to remember anyway! ;)

My favourite place in the world is London, although I could never live there for various reasons, but NY still ranks quite high in my list of great places. Glad you enjoyed it, too!

NYC and Disney World! Wow... You will enjoy one of my next entry... I have been there in march and I LOVED it even if I didn't get a photo with Donald.. That was a pretty hard mission xD

I will definitely spend some more time around Orlando soon enough. We 'live' in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando is not that far north. Any suggestion... If we do like last year we will be there for a weekend... What would you do all over again (except of Disney World)?

Well, the MGM Studios are a Disney park whose main theme is (you wouldn't have guessed) cinema, so you'll find lots of great movie-themed attractions and rides for kids and adults alike (think Gardaland, but tenfold!!!). If you like rollercoasters and such, this is the place for you.

Epcot is also a great theme park: all the main countries of the world are represented by small copies of their most famous landmarks built around a big lake. As you walk along, you get to see these attractions, many of which are close to a restaurant/bar/cafe/gift shop of the relevant countries. There's also a big parade along the street and fireworks on the lake in the evening. An incredible experience!

As a third option, if you love space and astronautics (like we do), not far from Orlando is Cape Canaveral, where you can visit the site from which the shuttles are launched and the relevant museum. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to visit it when we were in the neighbourhood, but we hope to be able to go someday.

Epcot sounds very interesting! As MGM and Cape Canaveral... My boyfriend wanted to go to Cape Canaveral as well if I remember correctly... :)

Thanks for your suggestions :)

My pleasure. Hope you post some pics after you visit those places, so that I can share your joy and remember how great it was to be there! :)

Don't worry... I will :)

Still got plenty of pics to share... I've got Orlando, York, The ADK mountains, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, The Florida Keys, St Simons Island, Barcelona... Cannot wait :)

And I will definitely visit the places you suggested... In a month I'll be back in Florida and we're already thinking about our first weekend off :)
