I've rooted for since the beginning almost every couple I worship, there are a few exception! So I don't know how to answer this question!
But since I said that I would have chosen a different pairing for each question - and I think I''m succeeding in that since I think answers to questions like "the best wedding" or "the most hearbreaking scene" don't jeopardize future answers because I'm choosing a moment and not a pairing (law school bitches xD) - and every pairing I've chosen in the past it's a pairing that I've rooted for since the beginning, I'm going to choose a new one for this question and right now I'm actually closing my eyes and pointing my finger at a random name I wrote in a piece of paper!
And the winner is...

Why?
This isserenachan 's fault! She made me ship them since the beginning. I think the show wasn't started yet and I was already a shipper, just like for Eric and Sookie! I know it's a trash-y show but we all need some trash-y stuff on our TV Calendar to reach the end of the day, right?
Also I think Ian is pretty hot and I have to say I've enjoyed the last episodes of season 1 and I liked a lot the premiere ths year, of course I watch it just for my favourite couple, it's not like the background stories are that interesting even if I'd like to know how could they have a city party EVERY NIGHT!
The story is a classic, Damon is the bad vampire and Elena dates his brother (in this case) who's the perfect one, the one who feeds only from squirrels and rabbits (and taht's not a good thing because really squirrels and rabbits? They are so pretty!) and they both fall in love with her because she has something peculiar and blah balh blah, yes, kind of the same story of every vampire triangle, but Ian and Nina have an amazing chemistry and I worship them because I'm always for the bad guys!
A lot of people thinks that this is like the Twilight Saga but I don't think so. Bella is the worst female character EVER, she doesn't care anything but her Vampire, she's a fangirl, and Edward is a douchebag covered of glitter who loves her just because... because... well I don't know why, if I were a Vampire she would be only food for me, just something I have in my fridge that is expiring and I don't want to loose my money!
Favourite Damon/Elena Moment
I think my favourite moment is in the first episode of season 2 when he opens his heart to Elena for the first time. He's so broken after what Katerine did to him! She told him that she was in love only with Stefan (obviously it's just a plan to turn him against his brother or it's just a game) so he realize that his past was a lie and than Elena tells him that she is in love with Stefan and it will always be Stefan destroying his present and his future too using the same words aterine used! Poor sweet Damon!
Damon: You're surprised that I thought you would kiss me back?
You can't imagine that I'd believe that you'd want to?
Elena: Damon...
Damon: That what we've been doing here means something?
You're the liar, Elena.
There is something going on between the two of us, and you know it.

Elena: No... Damon, don't! What's wrong with you?!
