We Were Here Yesterday

First of all I want to say THANK YOU to all of you had comment my new layout! I'm really glad you like it so much!

So... big days for the Who!Verse mh... Children of Earth is ended last night and - after a night with sad dreams - I'm still specheless!
Yesterday night - or better: morning, was 3.30 a.m. - I spoke with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] about the last episode and I really didn't know if make a post about those five days or not! But this season deserve it, well... not my post (cos I'm none XD), but deserve a mention everywhere! :)

First, I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of the show. I watched it just because it was related to Doctor Who. But I always thought that was a good spin off, better than Sarah Jane Adventures at least, sorry but I don't like her at all, with all those crying about Luke and his age... Sarah Jane? Who cares how old is him, stop to be such an idiot! But, after those episodes something changes...

I loved it! I cryed like a child for most of the time... ok, maybe all the time, but was really amazing!

Peter Capaldi/John Frobisher. I loved that man from the beginning! I wanted him as PM instead of that prick and I wanted to heard the Doctor ask him at the end: "Tell me, John Frobisher, are you from an old Italian family?" Oh dear Caecillius, what did they do to you! It was heartbreaking, the final scene broke my heart in so many pieces! I'm so sorry. Poor man and poor family! I died inside for every gunshot I heard and then I find myself in tears.. my t-shirt collar was all wet!
I have to say that I thought that in the end Clem could die saving the world... But that was too obvious for RTD... and instead was Steven the one!
That was the "worst" (in a sort of good way cos I hated RTD for that but was so tragic and perfect... maybe I'm sick) part for me! Cos is always the same formula: The world is ending and then one stand up and sacrifice him self for the greater good but Steven didn't know anything! He was playing football with some guys and then, suddently, he was on that machine... dying... watching his uncle Jack crying opposite, asking why is mum was crying like a mad behind the glass.
Was the worst death in the history, worst that Ianto's! Oh Gee Ianto, my dear, sweet Ianto. I loved Jack/Ianto, was one of my very few slash ships adn his death was really tragic for me (and the fandom).
Ianto: I love you.
Jack: Don't!
Ianto: Don't forget me.
Jack: Never could.
Ianto: A thousand year's time you won't remember me.
Jack: Yes, I will. I promise. I will.
Oh I promise too! Poor Ianto! I have no words for his death cos was... kinda useless! It just make all more angsty then ever but still was nonsense.
A fourth season without him will not be the same! And after that I was so worried about Gwen...My dear Eve Myles you deserve an Oscar for your performance! Wasn't she PERFECT in every single scene?
I have to say that I didn't like so much the fact that now she's pregnant but I can live with it!
The last run with the baby girl in her arms and her expression in front of Ianto's body... and then the end with Jack, I'm specheless. She was perfect. That's all!
Five tracic days and still ive BRILLIANT days, an amazing season!
I know that a lot of people are mad with RTD for what he has done, I'm kinda mad too but I have to admit that those five episodes were so good!
I still believe in Russel T. Davies. He's the best form me! And he always will! But he have to talk with someone, a prodfessionist, cos none could write something like that. Aliens that want children for get high? All those tragic death? All those government conspiracy... well this is "normal" in those days!
Btw I'm wondering what will happen when Jack'll meet the Doctor... Oh Gee they're both so emo now...

The Children (Clyde, Maria, Rani, Luke) are nice. And last series we got the Brigadier... but well. Even if she's a bit better than in DW, she's still good old Sarah Jane. Annoying and boring. And with a huge crush on the Doctor. I don't understand all those fans worshiping her..; she's not so special... there were better companions than her in Old!Who and we don't hear about them anymore. First of all: I love the Sarah Jane Adventures. At some point and before series 2 of TW had started I even thought it was more adult and thought through than Torchwood. But never mind xD

That's funny, I thought so too, first! Well, of course that idea turned out to be rubbish when he died in episode four... but I always thought: they didn't take him back then, so maybe they only just returned because one child was missing. But alas he couldn't change anything in the end. Well, sort of.

I'm glad you do appreciate the ending, though. As you said, most people just complain, and it's not only just complaining. But it's good to know that there are still decent people out there! xD

Thing is that I met SJ in DW and in that episode I felt for her like Rose XD and than I saw SJA, I like the children, expecially Maria, but I dunno, Sarah Jane is still so boring for me! Expecially whan she talk about Luke!

Oh you're so right! He was STUNNING and I liked his character so much even if everyone told me that he wasn't so good! I think that we should have more politicians like him! And I'm so sorry for what happened to him... he had to ask help to Torchwood before... and Bridget Spears was SO in love with him! When he kissed her my heart skip a beat cos was so tender!

Well, luckily the show is only called The Sarah Jane Adventures ;) I'm not the biggest fan of hers too, but she's a means to an end. And she's all right.

God, those scenes combined with that speech Bridget held. It got me in tears. I literally jumped when I heard the shots. I mean, I was expecting them but it still startled me. Especially because the last thing I looked at before he closed that door where his daughters. Oh my, I'm getting sick again only thinking of it... what an amazing piece of writing.
And yeah, I think Bridget appreciated him very much. I think everyone noticed that when she snarled at Lois, thinking she had something going on with him xD

Ieri quando ho letto in basso "six months later" ho fatto un breve calcolo mentale e corrisponde al finale di Doctor Who quindi probabilmente si teletrasporta da Alonso/Russel Tovey e lì poi incontra il Dottore.

Sguardi e dialoghi non en abbiamo ne visti ne sentiti purtroppo perchè era tutti in interni!

Speculazioni dicono che, vista la moltitudine di alieni che c'era quel giorno, abbiano girato una conferenza del proclama ombra! Quindi è probabile che Jack spunti lì nel bel mezzo dell'assemblea e che lì incontri il Dottore... a quel punto un bel dialogo angst su quello che è accaduto sulla Terra non ce lo toglie nessuno!

No, non lo è stata... ok, era evitabile, o poteva essere scritta meglio, ma non avremmo avuto il finale che abbiamo avuto senza la morte di Ianto. Jack con la morte di Ianto ha perso tutto... e quando senti di aver perso tutto, tutto perde importanza... stai così male che un dolore in più, uno in meno, non fa molta differenza... e così ha schiacciato quel tasto che ha ucciso suo nipote e allontanato per sempre sua figlia.

La serie era perfetta così nonostante il finale mi sia sembrato un po' veloce. Ma 'Children of Earth' doveva essere la 9a stagione, non la 3a...
Ora se mai dovesse esserci una season 4, e pare ci sarà, se non schiacciano il grosso bottone di reset e ci ridanno Ianto, non credo saranno più in molti a vederlo... Io non di certo.

Torchwood è sempre stata la mia serie preferita (più di Doctor Who, so che mi rinnegherai ora... ma è così!!! ma non temere, era la mia preferita su tutte) e vederla distruggere così nel giro di un'ora e venti minuti, mi ha devastato.

Non ho mai pianto tanto... non piango per me che pure di dolore ne provo tanto e costantemente, ma ho pianto una notte intera e il giorno seguente solo per Ianto... e ancora se rivedo quella scena (e sto evitando di farlo + che posso) anche solo in foto, mi rimetto a piangere... Lo so, ho quasi 30 anni e non dovrei parlare così... ma mi ha fatto talmente male.......

me l'avevi già detto un pò di tempo fa! tranquilla non ti rinnego! Piutosto non rinengarmi tu visto che all'inizio non ero una grande fan XD

Anche io ho pianto tantissimo, per Ianto, Steven John e per il povero bambino tenuto dal 456! Ho pianto per ogni puntata e forse è per questo che l'ho adorata!

Sarà che l'ho visto come un series finale e che io davo TW per finito quì, forse non ho ancora realizzato che RTD ne farà un altra di stagione, però io ho adorato ogni secondo di questa serie.
La morte di Ianto è stata praticamente inutile ai fini della storia perchè io, personalmente, avrei preferito che fosse morto per sacrificarsi per il genere umano o per il suo team.

Ti faccio un esempio: alla fine Gwen corre con la bambina in braccio seguita dai militari, ecco se le avessero sparato (e grazie a Dio non l'hanno fatto) sarebbe stata una morte meravigliosa, come è stata straziante la morte di John nella stanza delle bambine o qualla di Steven che mi fa venire la pelle d'oca solo a pensarci!
Ianto invece è morto così, solo per far sentie in colpa Jack alla fin fine, è questo che mi dispiace! E' l'unica pecca per me!

E forse sì anche la velocità con la quale si arriva ad una soluzione alla fine ma cosa potevano fare? Tirare fuori il Dottore? Non potevano perchè i bambini non guardano Torchwood (e in caso di CoE grazie a Dio) [Non so se sei spoilerata su quello che abbiao visto a Cardiff ad Aprile mentre filmavano DW quindi non dico niente ma se sei spoilerata poi ne parliamo XD] e alla fine doveva essere qualcosa di immediato, qualcosa che succedesse nel giro di poco... e si capiva subito che avrebbero usato i bambini per scacciae i 456! Però quella scena è stata così disaramte da non farmi dire "uff, è finita così? Era così semplice?"

Beh in partica l'ho adorato, magari avrei cambiato qualcosina ma non sono Russel T Davies e se l'avessi scritto io non srebbe stato così bello!

E ora non oso immaginare cosa succederà a Doctor Who... David ha già detto che non la smetteva di piangere quindi... mi sa che ci aspetta un acpodanno all'insegna della tristezza! YAY!

Sono un po preoccupata per gli americani... non so se riusciranno a stare spoiler free e questa stagione merita di essere vista senza sapere NULLA... ma non credo che ce la faranno... per una questione di pochi giorni damn! Avrebbero dovuto darla in contemporanea... :(

Il fatto è che cmq a te TW non piaceva prima, per questo questa serie ti ha preso bene... proprio perché non ha niente di TW... alla fine il team quasi stonava in quel contesto... e cmq è stato tutto così pesante e tragico che non era più TW... ripensandoci a freddo poi, messo via il coinvolgimento emotivo iniziale, non è stata neanche sto granché come serie...

Certi pezzi erano noiosi, c'era già trp Gwen, Jack e Ianto che vanno ad affrontare l'alieno senza un piano nè attrezzatura idonea (menomale che 456 aveva minacciato di scatenare virus già prima di allora, portarsi una maschera anti gas?) solo proprio perché Ianto doveva morire... e sebbene la scena sia stata stupenda e straziante, la morte di Ianto quanto somiglia a quella del Master da 1 a 10? Poi... parliamone... un alieno tossico? O_o
E alla fine, come direbbe una mia amica, tutto finisce con un rutto nel day 5... 5 min e le 5 pesantissime e tragicissime ore precedenti perdono di significato in un soffio... boh...

Se solo fosse stato il finale della serie... forse potrei esserne felice... era un finale perfetto... ma i soldi chiamano e la 4a stagione ci sarà... Beh, in tutta onestà spero sia un flop, ci spero ardentemente... uno come RTD ha bisogno di capire chi ha fatto sì che diventasse famoso... la sua ispirazione è finita già qualche anno fa e doveva ringraziare di avere in ballo progetti che la gente ancora amava... se nella season 4 sfodererà personaggi alla Lois per il nuovo team, beh, può star certo che piaceranno solo a lui...

Questo "odio" nei confronti di RTD inizia un pò ad infastidirmi! (ma non solo da te sia ben chiaro :) ) quindi non prendere questa risposta con i toni sbagliati, non mi pare il caso di litigare per quello che è un telefilm. Alla fine non è che RTD è entrato nella mia vera vita e ha fatto fuori un mio amico quindi non vedo perchè questa risposta possa essere letta con un tono sbagliato, sono solo opinioni quindi (PLEASEEEEE) non leggerle come attacchi... ogni volta che non uso le faccine la gente pensa male!! Detto ciò ti rispondo!

Il tuo messaggio mi lascia un pò senza parole perchè io ti trovo un pò irragionevole, ma questo è un mio punto di vista, tu puoi BENISSIMO trovare irragionevole me.

Prima di tutto io ho detto che prima non ero una gran fan di TW, questo non vuol assolutamente dire che non mi piacesse, io ho una classifica personale di TF (che non è per forza data dai miei headers) e TW non era tra i primi 3. Per i primi 3 TF mi reputo una grandissima fan, quindi per TW - facendo un confronto - non sono una gran fan perchè non muoio cercando spoilers o altro come per altri. Ma è un TF che adoro, se no non mi sarei guardata gli episodi alle 4 del mattino! Non lo faccio certo per tutti! E l'ho fatto anche per la seconda serie! Quindi sono una fan ma non è tra i miei 3 preferiti (più che altro perchè solitamente parto prevenuta con gli spin off)

Io non credo che stonasse nulla in questa serie! Era più dark... beh anche DW è diventato più dark (per un pubblico di bambini) ma questo non l'ha reso un TF diverso. Gli speciali sono sempre DW.

Ora, tu puoi non averla trovata grandiosa come un altro gruppo di persone e io invece l'ho trovata grandiosa come un altro gruppo di persone, ma questo si ferma quì per me. Se ne può parlare quanto vuoi ma che si parli della serie non di RTD e della sua persona, del fatto che sia uno stronzo o altro... 1 non ne vedo il motivo 2 a me non sembra per nulla che lo sia stato!
Capisco che la departita di Ianto possa averti delusa/devastata/... ma rimani su Ianto please! Cosa vuol dire che RTD non ha rispetto dei suoi fans? Preferiresti che a fine di ogni epi ci fosse la domanda "come vuoi che continui? chiama il 3490000000" beh io preferisco rimanere a guardare cosa ne esce, poi posso rimanerci male ma alla fine chi se ne frega (non è il primo personaggio che amo di una serie che muore)!
Io amavo Rose alla follia, alla pari di quanto tu possa amare Ianto, ma Doomsday mi ha fatto piangere come una fontana (per non parlare di Journey's end) la sua "morte/addio" non mi ha fatto venir voglia di maledire tutta la crew e il cast ecc. Ok ho bestemmaito per un pò ma la stagione successiva ero in prima fila! Pronta a farmi stare sulle palle Martha (che poi non ho mai detestato realmente ma questa è un'altra storia)

la morte di Ianto quanto somiglia a quella del Master da 1 a 10?
Ehm... ci assomiglia -1000000 (per me) può assomigliarci per la posizione del "morto" e per il fatto che fossero due uomini ma non ci vedo altro di uguale. Il Master si lascia morire per battere il Dottore, Ianto invece non ha una scelta. Una è una scena di disperazione per l'aver perso l'ultima persona che gli ricordava chi era l'altra è una drammatica scena d'amore alla Romeo e Giulietta, dove uno dei due, però,non può morire! Sono due morti completamente diverse per conto mio!

Beh, in tutta onestà spero sia un flop, ci spero ardentemente...
Io spero - e credo - di no. Visto che c'è anche gente che stà iniziando adesso a vederlo!

Poi... parliamone... un alieno tossico? O_o
Ecco io questa l'ho trovata geniale. Si parla SEMPRE di alieni che vogliono prendere il controllo della terra o cose simili! L'alieno che vuole nostri bambini per spacciarli è geniale e secondo me ti tocca maggiorente visto il problema della droga nel mondo, è come se umanizzasse l'alieno non "innalzandolo" a razza superiore che vuole il controllo!

Sono d'accordo, sono molto curiosa anche se l'esterno del TARDIS mi stranisce parecchio! E la companion è davvero adorabile!

Io ho iniziato ad "odiare" (parola forte, direi + che altro disprezzare e ignorare) RTD dopo l'intervista di Ausiello a dirla tutta... io ho quasi 30 anni e sentirmi sminuire da uno al quale ho contribuito a dare da mangiare ovviamente non fa che togliermi la volontà di continuare a farlo. Ho sempre odiato la presunzione in qualunque essere umano e lui non è esente, ovviamente. Quindi per me semplicemente non esiste più.

In ogni caso, non volevo certo che tenesse conto dei fans in fase di scrittura delle storie, questo no, anche se con Rose solo perché era la sua amata Rose l'ha fatto riportandola indietro sebbene ad andarsene fosse stata Billie di sua volontà, rovinando anche la storyline di Rose... (la cosa del Ten2 la vendetta tipo bambolotto gonfiabile per Rose è davvero triste!!! e lo dissi anche al tempo.) e ora dimmi se così facendo nn ha assecondato i fans!!!??? però ianto non è Rose nè Gwen (che in tutti i modi lui sta cercando di ficcarci giù per la gola ma la gente continua ad amare + Ianto di lei, maledetti noi che non seguiamo i suoi diktat incondizionatamente!) quindi a noi nn ci caga anzi ci da degli insignificanti e ci viene a dire che riportare indietro ianto rovinerebbe tutto... *cough* ROSE!!! OWEN!!! RHYS!!! *cough*
L'arroganza... è uno dei difetti peggiori su un essere umano!!! Solo per questo io sono arrivata a ignorare (e boicottare) una persona che ha perso la mia stima (e dire che ne avevo tanta per lui!)... lo faccio per tante cose più serie nella mia vita, lo farò anche per lui...

I miss him too! And there will be a 4thseason.. but I dunno anything about it! I just think that nothing could be better than Children Of Earth! It was so bloody Brilliant! *______* and tragic of course!
