When you guys will read this I'll be on my way up to the mountains... I thought about skipping the FList Friday post but I enjoy asking you these questions and getting to know you better! So, last night before bed (now) I was thinking about what to ask you and then it hit me:

What do you prefer: the beach or the mountains? Why?
What do you like to do when you are there?

Years ago my answer would have been simple, I would have answer Beach without even thinking about it! Beach means summer and summer means no school and the beach, for a kid, it's always so much fun... The mountains can be fun too but, as a kid, I wasn't very interested into going hiking and I never liked the temperature.

Today I still rather be warm than cold... But I love both of them and it's difficult to make a decision... I think I would choose the mountains today, because I love hiking and taking pictures of wonderful views, and it's calm, while the beach tends to be crowded most of the time and loud...

What about you?

I would say beach! I enjoy sitting in the sand and being in the sun. The sun (which has vitamin D) helps my depression. I feel a lot better during the summer time, and being on a beach when I can of course :-)

I would say the beach too - I love swimming and sitting in the sands and just relaxing :)

Definitely the beach. I'm usually a lazy person, lol, so laying on the beach and relaxing is much more appealing to me than hiking or skiing/snowboarding through the mountains. Although I do enjoy doing that now and then, if I had to choose one I'd choose the beach.

HIKING! Any day. I'm not a beach person at all. I get bored just sitting there. I'll jump in the ocean and splash around a bit but then I'm exhausted and it's all done. I love hiking adventures. :)

The beach. I used to live a few minutes from the beach and took walks along it, so lots of memories there. (Plus, mountains tend to have snakes, which... do not like.)

I live close to the Oslo Fjord so I am always close to beaches/shoreline. I am not beach person in the sense of sunbathing and swimming. I was at the beach for that reason one time this summer and haven’t been for years, and really it was more for the chance to fish for crabs with the children of my friend S and just spending time with them. I don't deal with heath and long stays in the sun well, so really beach-life isn't for me. I do love to walk by the shore, pick sea shells and stones, some drift-wood from time to time. all year round. And I love hiking on different coastal paths we have many of here and the mix of sea and wood living just here allows me.

I am not up on the mountains enough. I would love to go hiking in mountains and stay at a cabin there, but we don’t have a cabin. I love getting a change to go up in the mountains. I wouldn’t want to live up in the mountains, I need the salt sea, but to visit and spend more time there than I do now would be grand.

I think I would probably pick the beach because it's warm, and I love the ocean sounds. But I also like the mountain scenery better. I dunno!

Can I pick both? Because it really depends on the time of the year. I love beaches but not in the summer. I like them in the off season especially when the sea is angry and their are waves. I love walks on the beach when nobody is there.

Mountains I only like in the summer when you can go hiking. I really don't do winter sports.
