Hello Flist!
Hope you're having a great Thursday, also known as baby Friday xD I thought t drop by for a quick update!

➜ Now that Eric is home (thank you for all your safe travel messages) I'm super busy and very happy! I hate to be alone and it's so great having him around with his post-it notes full of ideas and things to do and his energy... playing my guitar while I check my email... It's just lovely! It has been a long time since we spent some quality time together and we needed it!

➜ Today is the best day ever because it's National Coffee Day and - as you know - I LOVE COFFEE with all my heart! I checked online for coffee offers and it looks like Krispy Kreme gives away free coffees and free glazed doughnuts so that's where we're headed after lunch!

➜ Yesterday we went to Barnes & Noble because I had a 25 $ gift card to use and there were some pretty good deals, so I ended up buying quite a lot of books and - of course - I want to read them all now! I bought (from the bargain priced table):
-(Something) Borrowed and (Something) Blue by Emily Giffin: two books in one, I saw the movie Something Borrowed a couple of months ago, and I liked it a lot and - since the book is always better than the movie - I thought it was a good idea to get it (and it was less than 6 $)!
-The Grown Ups by Robin Antalek: I love books that explore bonds between families and friends and this seems pretty well written!
-Our Red Hot Romance by Dixie Cash: because the story seems fun even if the title seems to be about something different. She's a funny writer so I know I'll have fun with it!
-The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom: because I read The First Call from Heaven recently and I love the way this guy writes! This book seems even more interesting, so I can't wait!
Then I went upstairs and I ended up buying more books, full price this time xD
-My Grandmother Asked Me to tell You She's Sorry and A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman because I've been meaning to buy them both since the day thay came out but I never did and now it was time. I was attracted by A Man Called Ove because I liked The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (Jonas Jonasson) so much, and this book reminded me of it.
-The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan because it sounds like a story of self discovery and I love that.
-The Whispers Beyond the Veil by Jessica Estevao because period drama YAY

➜ The DVD section at B&N it's so AWFUL... very disorganized (like whole book store to be honest...) I don't really like B&N but it's the only book store around here. I went in, looking for Suits BlueRay (I wanted to check the fearures) and I just wanted to reorganize it all! Of course, every time I'm there, people asks me where to find books and I end helping them... It's like no one works there and people get so confused because it's so badly organized, so I feel like I need to help them. I should aply for a job there... I'd love to organize the store and I know already I can help and I could talk about books all the time! :D

➜ I still have some space for questions on my Ask me Anything Meme so feel free to comment (even here) with some questions if you feel like it! :)

Doughnuts were GOOD! It was my first time at Krispy Kreme and they know what they're doing! There was a lot of people there for the deal and they were cranking them out!!! :)

I'm so happy he's home!!! <3

I settled for the 66 cents coffee at Dunkin since there is one next to my house (which made it 71 cents actually, I mean, come one DD, you couldn't cover the tax for me???)

Glad Eric is home safe and sound!

WOW you really stretched that B&N gift card LOL. Or, wait, how much did you end up spending? They are doing the 'My grandmother asked me' book for the library book club next week. That book is so popular right now!

DD... That's so unprofessional of you! You promised 66 cents! How dare you! :D I know Eric would have said something because he's very funny when it comes to "promises" LOL

I ended up spending 65$ The total was 105$ but I had the gift card and my reward card that gives me extra discounts! The bargain books are former best sellers in paperback (if you wait long enough everything will get in that pile eventually) and the 80% of what I read this year was from that pile and they were all good! They cost less than 5 dollars (the very big one are 5.98) so it's a pretty good deal!

I'm glad to hear 'My grandmother asked me' is popular! I have this thing for books with long titles that just make me want to pick them up LOL and this looks like it could be a VERY good book! Let me know what the book club people think about it! I wish I was part of a book club :'( one day... one day... :D

I know right... I just want to shake the people that work there and say "you work surrounded by books and movies, how is it possible you don't love it so much to give it your full attention?" I think I will apply for a job there eventually xD

I'm glad you're happy :D :D

All the books, all the books! I read A man named Ove last year. I really liked it :) I've been meaning to read something by the same author in Swedish this year...still have a few months left to make it I guess.

I'm glad to hear you liked it! It had pretty good reviews on Goodreads and - let's say - it just called to me... at first I didn't even notice "a man called ove" and "my grandmother asked me to tell you she's sorry we're from the same authour... I didn't know it was Swedish... just like Jonas Jonasson (the girl that saved the king of Sweden and the 100 y o man who climbed out the window and dissapeared)... well that's great... I guess I should read more Swedish letterature because I have the feeling Fredrick Backman will become one of my favorite... :)

So awesome you were able to get free coffee and doughnuts. :D

(Something) Borrowed and (Something) Blue by Emily Giffin - I didn't realise there were books! I just watched the movie earlier this year.

I didn't know either... I read the back and I thought "It looks like a movie I just watched" and, when I checked on goodreads how many stars it got, the first review mentioned the movie! Did you like the movie?
