The other day I posted an entry saying I was in Orlando, FL, but I didn't have time to explain what I was doing up there. As usual not serious stuff. Eric and I went to the Disney Hollywood Studios.
It was a very impulsive decision. We just rented a car and booked an hotel room through Hotwire, and suddenly we were on the road.
We didn't even know which park to visit between Universals, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but since I'm a Star Wars Fan, and you know what they say: "happy wife, happy life" Eric kindly offered to spend the day there.
We spent the night in one of the most amazing hotels EVER (Hyatt Regency Orlando) HIGHLY recommended an the morning after at 9 o'clock we were there.

We went to the Magic Kingdom 3 years ago for my birthday early in April and we loved it but not as much as this one.
The details are perfectly curated and it still amazes me somehow how well kept the park is. The queues are never longer than 30 minutes (maybe we were extremely luckily) and they move super fast... So fast you almost don;t have the time to take pictures of what surrounds you!

The first ride was a Star Wars one: Star Tours: a motion-simulated space flyght.
At the entrance you walk underneath a huge AT-AT Walker and - in case of a long queue - you have to pass through the forest of Endor, then you're inside where C3PO and R2D2 are getting the transport ready (and they're fighting of course... Oh R2D2 you sassy little piece of tin). When we first sat inside the transport we started wondering if tit was just a 4D experience but OMG it was so good! The first Hyperspace Jump left me with no breath and the whole ride was absolutely fantastic. We did it twice and the animation was different the second time so I wonder if every launch bay (there are 6 different transports) is different or maybe is just a random thing. Anyway it was perfect.

We walked around the shops and then we went to The Great Movie Ride where we took a journey into some of Hollywood most famous films with a guide who, not only shared fun facts about the movies set we were visiting, but she also had interactions with other "cast members" and wax dolls. At the end there was a very good montage with other famous movies. One of the thing I liked best was the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, it was spectacular indeed... and we went to see it twice. I videoed the whole thing. Very entertaining!

Later I met Chewie and we became best friends as you can see form the photo! It's really amazing... there are stormtroupers walking around and bullying you asking for IDs and stuff. It became a Star Wars theme park... Everything else feels out of place...

We went to see the Beauty and the Beast live on stage and I was disappointed by the costumes... maybe because the Star Wars ones were so well done...

The last ride of the day for us was Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Again a brilliant ride. All in the dark in a stretch limousine. When it went upside down I lost my sh!t... I was screaming like hell! The store at the end of the ride is just the best with Hipster Mikey Tees and Pins, plus all the Aerosmith merchandise.

It was again a magical experience!

EEEEEE! I WANT TO GO TO THERE! I'm going to save up and wait until they are done with Star Wars world. I haven't been since they redid the Star Tours ride but according to my friends, yes, there several random scenarios, I think they even added a Jakku one when Force Awakens came out.

I think it worths the price of the ticket... At first I was like WTF? That's too much but that was a wonderful experience and we had a fantastic day...

With the first trip on the Star Tours I ended up on Naboo and on the second ride on Geonosis and I wasn't expecting it! It was so cool! :) Glad to know they put Jakku as well in the list...

On both the rides BB8 had a message for one of the passengers and on the second trip also Finn appeared on one of the monitors!

The interesting thing is it's all about the old Star Wars Movies the Prequel Trilogy is barely mentioned anywhere...

That's so cool that they got Jon Boyega to film a little (though he is such a fanboy, I bet he was thrilled LOL).

Well, the original Star Tours went up WAY before the prequels and they only updated the ride a few years ago so the actors had moved on and aged up. But, yeah, the less said about the prequels the better, imo!

I agree... Better to forget sometimes LOL!

But not only on that ride... Also around the park and every clip they show is 98% Original Trilogy and 2% Prequel stuff and I'm not considering TFA in the equation :)

Oh Yes I think it might be Jon who asked to be part of it... I could totally see him doing so xD

Ah, I remember this theme park very well! My husband and I went to Orlando on our honeymoon in the year 2000, and this was the first park we went to (it was still named 'MGM Studios' back then, LOL). I loved the Great Movie Ride, and also the Indiana Jones Stunt was spectacular! We had a great time there, and I'm glad to see it's still a nice place to visit.

These stunt man and women are amazing!!!

Yeah, the Great Movie Ride was very good and I didn't expect the explosion with the real fire in enclosed space! Also the Alien from Alien was pretty gross (in a good way)

We went everywhere except of the Hollywood Tower aka The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror because I'm not a huge fan of going up and down like that (I've never tried but I have a feeling xD)

Have you ever been to the Universal Studios? Is it a good park? I mean is it better than The Hollywood Studios? Because next year we're going to go to the Animal Kingdom (they're going to open a new ride from the movie Avatar) but we might do Universals too!

We didn't have much time in Orlando, so we only went to Magic Kingdom, the Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. We wanted to visit the Universal Studios as well, but due to a tornado warning we had to stay indoors for one day, which was a real pity, and we missed our chance to visit that theme park.

If you manage to go to the Universal Studios, please post many pics! I'm really curious about it. :)
