Note to self: Read Razor's Edge. I have so many EU / "Legends" books to catch up on, even after spending a solid year reading Star Wars books and reviewing them before TFA. What are some the better stories with Leia, do you reckon?

I basically just started with the EU books (I don't care if they're not canon) I'm trying to alternate Star Wars Book with other kind of novelsL... So far I read
- "The Courtship of Princess Leia" that was my first and I know everyone hates it but there are parts that are not that bad... (I'm the positive kind)
- "Tatooine Ghost" SO.DAMN.GOOD. Just the two of them and OMG great story!
- "The Truce at Bakura" Not enough Han and Leia... I was expecting more form this book.

Before picking up Razor's Edge I was planning on reading "Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor" because - even if Luke's name is part of the title - apparently there are TONS of Han and Leia moments!

I've heard good things about Children of the Jedi, apparently Hambly is a good author and The Thrawn Trilogy should be good too... But I started in January so I don't know a lot about the topic... I look for stories set between the Original Trilogy Movies or set right after... I don't think I'm going to read anything set way too into the future when they have kids and everyone slowly dies... Too dark for me... I might read both the Han Solo trilogies just because of Han being a scoundrel xD

Maybe you have some suggestions for me... :D

But yes... Put Razor's edge on your list... I opened the book at chapter 3 randomly and in the first 4 lines we have Leia being annoyed because of her attraction to Han... I honestly took the book and ran to the counter... I swiped my credit card so fast it caught fire xD

The first EU I ever picked up was The Truce at Bakura and I think maybe it was a bad one to start with. Parts of it were interesting, but I got so booooored.

*adds Tatooine Ghost to never-ending TBR pile*

Shadows of Mindor is AWESOME! There are a lot of good Han/Leia moments, and the mythology is just so weird--very space-opera-y. It's good stuff. I think Matthew Stover is my favorite old EU author. He also did the novelization for Revenge of the Sith, and it's amazing--maybe the best book in the Star Wars canon, old and new.

Another good one is Kenobi by John Jackson Miller. Mostly original characters that aren't Kenobi, actually, but it's a great little stand-alone Space Western. You learn lots about the Tusken Raiders too.

The newer ones aimed at a slightly younger audience are pretty great, too. If you haven't read Claudia Gray's Lost Stars yet, that's becoming legendary. It's still on my TBR pile, but I've only heard good things.

The Thrawn Trilogy is, of course, a must. The second one drags a bit for me, but it's worth it.

You HAVE to read Tatooine Ghost! It's the best book! It has EVERYTHING you need: Tons of Action, then - just like in the movies - stuff keeps happening and events don't give them a break and it's set just Han and Leia (they probably mention Luke but he's MIA for the whole story) right after they honeymoon.

Leia is dealing with Daddy Vader Issues and she's extremely in character. Han deals with the aftermath of what happened during The Courtship of Princess Leia, as you can imagine he's pretty pissed at the rebellion, since they wanted Leia to marry another guy, and he almost lost her because of them... and he's spot on Han as well... Just a perfect book... You should drop whatever you're doing now and read it LOL.

The book opens with a short story about their honeymoon (I posted it here: http://erychan86.livejournal.com/84721.html it's short and lovely). Troy Denning should definitely pick up his pen and write at least 10 more books about them!

I agree... The other books I've read so far are very similar to the movies because our heroes are constantly dealing with various different problems while attacked in every direction. This book takes its time to get there. The big battle it's in the last chapters and before that it's politics. Even this guy who makes Han jealous get dismissed in a second. But I liked Leia's conversation with Anakin to mention one thing. The story was nice but it should have been shorter...

I'm glad to hear... now I can't wait to read it! I'm almost done with my non-Star Wars book so it's getting closer...
