flist friday: the worst question anyone could ask...

Hello guys!

Sorry, last week I've missed FList Friday! I've been very bad and I should make amend by asking you the WORST QUESTION EVER!

Well, it's not the worst one... the worst ones are the questions you get asked when you see some members of you family after a long time (usually at Christmas) and they ask you:
(if you are in school) How's school?
(if you are out of school) Are you dating someone?
(if you are daring someone) When are you guys going to get married?
(if you are married) When are you going to have kids?

It's like you can't do anything right!

So my question is:

What are you doing for New Year's Eve?

I told you it was bad!

I am doing absolutely NOTHING! I hate NYE and I'm never going to change my opinion about it... You feel like you have to have the best of times and you never do! I tried go clubbing, dinner with friends in restaurants, dinner with friends at someone's place, parties at my place, drive all over the city just because the streets were empty and gas was not that pricy, spent it with my family, spent it with strangers, spent it with a lot of people, spent it with a few,... I was so happy when I was working on that night... So I could say "oh, no sorry, I'll be working, yes, I know... it sucks... maybe next year?"!

That's why I left Italy before it! So I could do nothing! I hope you had better experiences and this question is not as bad as it is for me! The only thing I can say is I'm glad this year is almost gone! Welcome 2017... You have to do very little in order to be better than your precedessor! So take it easy :)

Sorry. Now I have to go cry in that corner because this gif of Rose is too painful and I don't know why I'm doing this to myself!

I will have a low-key dinner with my family, do some reading (and fail finishing book 37 before midnight), watch TV, make some LJ entries, watch Skam with my niece, watch the fire-works outside at midnight. Perhaps a film too.

I'm going to a Tarantino-themed party, but haven't decided if I'll dress up or not...I also don't like fancy things at NYE and to be honest this isn't different from what I'd normally do: it's dinner (the place is a dive bar type of place) and then drinks and see some live music.

I am going to a party (well, more like a small get-together) at a friend's house. It's been a while since we've all hung out, so it should be fun. Happy New Year! Hope your NYE is good. =)

I hate NYE too, it's the most overrated holiday/day of the year. We're staying in and doing nothing much at all.

I usually pretty much ignore it, or spend it writing blog posts about what I want to do the following year. But this year I got invited to a party that pretty much my entire theatre family is going to be at, so I figured I would go along for a bit. Several of my close friends are like me and don't drink at all, so I don't mind going when I won't be the only sober one. The friend I'm driving in with agrees that once we've watched the 9pm fireworks it will be time to go home to bed, and I am okay with that.

I'm going out for NYE, and usually try to do something that night, since my birthday is the next day, and most people are usually hung over and don't want to do anything on my actual birthday :P
This year I'm going to Dueling Pianos at a bar downtown SF. I went there a couple years ago and it was SO MUCH FUN!! :D

I DO NOTHING ON NYE TOO!! I hate going anywhere on this day! Everyone thinks it's such a huge deal but it's always a disappointment or busy or you can't get home. Besides - I've a great view of fireworks from my house!

I'm also doing nothing on New Years Eve. I've never celebrated it. I only stay up to listen to the fireworks (because otherwise they would wake me up regardless, lol), but other than that I don't do anything special. It's just a regular day for me. I don't even do resolutions or anything of that nature.

We're spending it at home in air con (it's sweaty weather, and is past 8pm :|), gaming and drinking random Bundaberg drinks (currently a peach one for me, ginger beer for Zach) and vodka cruisers. :D

I feel the same about NYE. Like I want it to be fun like in movies and stuff but it just isn't. My entire family isn't even here so that's probably why it's never all that fun. I hope you have a good one though!

I am in Salt Lake City of course for this NYE. When my friend gets home from work, I think we're going to play board/card games. Low-key, just easy and fun. I'm fine with that. I've done the big parties, I've done the small parties. I occasionally experience FOMO when I do smaller things, but really, at the end, the big party versus small party...I just end up talking to people in smaller group settings anyway. I'm an INFJ through and through.

Spent it with the family on St Simons. We ate out for dinner (are you familiuar w/ Blackwater Grill or the Redfern Villiage area?) and then played poker till midnight. :)
