Binge Watching: Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life
It's 2 in the morning here, but I couldn't go to sleep before I finish Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life.
Before going into the spoilery part under the cut I just want to say it was great to have this show back... I know we had so many "recycled" shows this past couple of years, and I always complain I need something original, but this was such an unexpected welcome surprise. There are a few show that can make me feel like this!

And after this mushy intro here my take on this 4 parts Gilmore GIrls Event.
I LOVED Lorelai' storyline.I was glad to see she was with Luke, and they were working pretty well as a couple. I loved everything that went on between her and Emily, from the awful post funeral moment, through the therapy to the beautiful phone call they had while Lorelai was in the wildness. I really enjoyed the storyline about the Inn and how Lorelai had to ask money to Emily in order to take the next step, and Emily put on the table the same deal as the one in the pilot. Such a beautiful circle. The wedding in the middle of the night was almost perfect even though Jess was suppose to be there for Luke... Not Lane. Jess is Luke's family... That was kind of wrong. I'm just glad Luke and Lorelai ended up getting married! <3
When it comes to Rory instead... Well, I'm not so happy... I didn't like the whole Logan thing. He was engaged and she had a boyfriend. A boyfriend who was just a comic relief, but still. I can't believe Lorelai was okay with it when Rory confessed she was seeing Logan. That was terrible, and the only positive thing I can see in it is the end, that brings the whole story in a full circle:
Jess is the guy for her. They're perfect together. He's now a grown up and he has it together. He is the perfect guy for her. The scene where he looks at her through the window BROKE MY HEART! I was waiting for them to get together. I can't believe they didn't and we wasted time on Logan in that way!
The other thing that made me sad was Dean's cameo! Too short! It was sweet, but it felt forced that way... and sad! Sookie had a better cameo, even if it was short as well! It was very funny and sweet! I understand maybe it was too expensive to have Melissa McCarthy since she's now a movie actress, but Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia are still TV actors, I can't believe it was too expensive to give them more space...
Funniest Scene: the Musical and the Meeting about the Gay Pride.
Most Moving Scene: Lorelai says to Rory to drop the "the" and leave the title as just Gilmore Girls, Lorelai calls Emily and tells her her storu about Richard.
Most Beautiful Scene: The Evening Wedding Set up, Rory, Logan and the Boys go around the town in these awesome hats.
Most Shocking Scene: Mom, I'm pregnant.
Now I just have to wait to read what A.S. Palladino has to say about the last 4 words. And I need her to say that Rory will follow Lorelai's step and end up with Jess!
So, what are your thoughts about it? Did you liked it?
Okay, now if I could have a Friends Reunion I would be completely content!
Time to go to sleep. It's 3 am now! Bye!!!

I can't believe Lorelai was okay with it when Rory confessed she was seeing Logan. That was terrible, and the only positive thing I can see in it is the end, that brings the whole story in a full circle:
- Rory got pregnant in the end...
- And it's definitely Logan's.
- Logan is the same as Christopher.
- Rory went to Christopher asking him how he took it when Lorelai decided to be a single mom and Christopher was, you know... Christopher...
- So Rory is now in Lorelai's shoes. She's going to raise her kid alone (with Lorelai) and sort of live the same life as her mom... and:
- HER MOM ENDED UP WITH LUKE, SO RORY WILL END UP WITH JESS
in the next 4 episode series.
Jess is the guy for her. They're perfect together. He's now a grown up and he has it together. He is the perfect guy for her. The scene where he looks at her through the window BROKE MY HEART! LUKE AND LORELAI GOD DAMMIT THE TWO OF THEM SAVED 2016. I AM SO HAPPY THEY ARE MARRIED. I AM SO HAPPY THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A LIFE TOGETHER UGH THEY ARE SO PERFECT.
I hate Logan with the passion of 1000 suns and this full circle bullcrap. I mean he freaking was playing her around and Rory is now stuck with his kid. Honestly there was another way they could have done it. They could have had her married to Jess and Rory being scared about being a mom and Lorelai is trying to make her feel better.
Speaking of Jess I finally like Rory x Jess. [I havent watched all the seasons but I was team Dean x Rory for a while]. If there is a new series I hope she winds up with him he could take care of her and make her happy like Luke does for Lorelai X33

I had problems with Rory's storyline mostly because I don't approve that behavior... I forgave her for what she did with Dean, she was young and her life was a mess and it was Dean... But this with Logan? knowing he was engaged to be married? While she had a boyfriend? When Logan was not interested in breaking up his engagement? No, I can't accept it in real life, so I can't condone it on TV either... If it makes sense... I mean on TV we let some pretty bad things pass because it's a show and we want the drama... But this was over the line for a show!
I mean I ship certain relationship that if I had the equivalent in my life I'd be GTFO at every turn... So this was pretty bad for me to digest xD

I've never liked Logan to begin with, but after this? I can't not hate him! Ic an't forgive Rory either because she knew he was engaged to be married... But you can see what a piece of shit he was even when she asked him if he was really going to marry Odette and he was like "yep... that's the plan, I just want you as the mistress"
I think Jess is going to be to Rory what Luke was for Lorelai and they will end up together eventually... He's the only one who still loves her and he is just perfect for her... I was a shipper since the beginning... He was a screw up and he needed to grow up and I liked him when he came back after he left and became a writer in season 5 and 6. He worked a lot on himself and became a better man! The right one for her! And I think Rory is going to follow Lorelai's steps! She will stay in SH, write her book, keep working on the gazette and maybe hire some of the guys from the 30 something gang and make it better. She will be a single mom and have Jess in her life too. He is always been there for her. He is a writer so he can work wherever he wants... I think eventually things will get better for her too! Rory put Lorelai on track and this kid will do the same for Rory... That's her special person! :D

But there are things that I don't like... When a good character makes these decisions without a reason behind it I struggle.
I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this! Sorry if I seem crazy... I just like stories xD

Milo had more scenes than Jared and Melissa, and they were more meaningful even if brief! The one with Dean was brief but sweet, the one with Sookie was fun... But I think it would have been better to keep Sookie around... make her be the chef behind the scenes and see her for just a scene like that. Maybe having Lorelai mention Sookie being in the kitchen without actually going there.. Having her away doing her thing didn't add anything to the story...
I'm glad to see online I'm not the only one thinking that Jess is Rory's Luke: http://time.com/4582661/gilmore-girls-ending-last-four-words/

Yes, I agree... Luke and Lorelai DESERVE an happy ending! When she got back and he was so sure she was about to break up with him I was shaking the computer screen!!! He was so lost in the diner when Jess went visit! OMG poor Luke!
But I have to say, the whole Wild storyline WORTH IT just because of the AMAZING story Lorelai told Emily! It was so moving and just beautiful! I loved that scene!!!

Sookie had a better cameo, even if it was short as well!
Yeah Sookie's cameo was great, but definitely not enough. I could buy that she'd been away for most of the year, but once she had come back and was all excited about making wedding cakes, it just felt wrong for her to disappear again and not make an appearance for Luke and Lorelai's wedding. Especially when Lane and Michel were there, but not Lorelai's best friend??
